What is aspen excelsior?

Aspen excelsior is made by shredding aspen logs into thin, curly wood fibers using specialized machines. These machines slice the wood along the grain to produce long, springy strands, often referred to as "wood wool." The result is a soft, natural, and biodegradable filler that’s ideal for packaging, cushioning, animal bedding, and decorative use.

Our aspen is only sourced from forest product companies that hold memberships in Sustainable Forestry programs.

Aspen is a self-propagating tree and renews itself from its own root system which makes it a good environmental choice. 

Excelsior fibers are 100% biodegradable.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! Orders of $49 or more (after discounts and before taxes) qualify for free shipping within the 48 contiguous United States.

Orders under $49 ship for a flat rate of $4.99.

Please note, we currently only ship within the United States and do not offer international shipping at this time.

How long will my order take to arrive, and who do you ship with?

Orders are processed and typically ship within 24 hours of being placed. If you place your order before 2:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday, we’ll ship it out the same day!

Most orders are delivered within 1 to 5 business days, depending on your location and proximity to our warehouse in Texas.

Please note, we do not ship on weekends (Saturday or Sunday), so orders placed over the weekend will ship on the next business day.

We primarily ship through USPS and UPS, depending on the size and destination of your order.

We want you to be completely satisfied with your Hen Comfort™ products. If there’s an issue with your order, we’re here to help!

✅ Return Eligibility

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original condition and packaging. To start a return, email us at info@hencomfort.com with your order number and reason for return.

❌ Non-Returnable Items

For health and hygiene reasons, we do not accept returns on opened or used nest pads.

📦 Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect. We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we can’t guarantee receipt of non-trackable returns.

💸 Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll issue a refund to your original payment method. Please allow 5–7 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.

📬 Damaged, Defective, or Missing Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or missing items, please email info@hencomfort.com within 7 days of delivery. We’ll make it right as quickly as possible.
